The area of work and major accomplishments:

  • Program Management and Coordination:
    Prepare project work plan, monitoring plan and budget in consultation with implementing partner NGOs and WorldFish team. In close collaboration with COP / DCOP, play a leading role in developing Detailed Implementation Plan (DIP) for each FY and update per quarter. Ensure that DIP of project is interlinked; and activities are implemented in an efficient manner. Ensure that the DIP is used as the basis for project implementation by FtF AQ project and partner staff. Provide project support including but not limited to: managing resources, overseeing budgets and expenditures, managing staff time and organizing periodical audit. Maintain coordination with partner organizations ensuring financial management and reporting standards of partners and overseeing the work of partners. Maintain liaison with World Fish districts/Dhaka offices and Project Coordinator and update progress of activities. Coordinate & liaison with government officials, local Govt. bodies, NGOs, and the private sector for developing appropriate interventions and effective utilization of aquaculture resources according to WFC standards. Monitor and supervise entire activities of the project in the field of assignment on a regular basis against targets and taking corrective measures as required.
  • Human Resources Management :
    Assist Training Manager and Technical Specialist in preparing training materials and conducting training for partner staff and farmer. Build and nurture effective teamwork in the project office that is conducive to staff retention. Assist administration in staff recruitment process for project office staff. Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel. Ensure all staff comprehend and effectively pursue the mission, goals and objective. Identify and effectively resolve staff issues to ensure there is less negative impact on project / beneficiaries. Ensure supervision and conduct annual staff performance appraisal for all project staff. Assess needs and provide staff with skill development opportunities for ensuring maximum contribution toward achieving project & organization goals. Provide on the job training, coaching, counselling and mentoring to the staff as appropriate. Initiate appropriate disciplinary measures to the concerned staff as and when required in consultation with project and HR.
  • Representation, Communication & Reporting:
    Coordinate development of team action plans with Dhaka based technical person regularly. Conduct monthly meetings at which project progress is assessed by the project team with participation from technical persons as require. Develop monthly reports and other reports as needed and ensure that these reports are reviewed by relevant the IA technical staff and Dhaka based technical support team. Attend staff meetings in Dhaka and report back to project team to ensure they are updated on pertinent information and general developments. Maintain liaison with GOB / NGO officials, beneficiaries and other key formal and informal leaders in the area. Help project staff to develop and maintain such linkages with GOB / other partners and utilize the best of services / facilities. Prepare for and coordinate visits by Dhaka technical and management staff, Consultants and other visitors to ensure their effectiveness. Supervise all the fulltime field staff viz. Technical Specialists and Accounts/Administrative Assistant.
  • Administration and Finance
    Reporting to the DCOP, WorldFish, you will with the support of other Worldfish staff have overall responsibility for the management and administration of the field activities of WorldFish portions of the FtF AQ Project. Coordinate preparation of budget in line with WFC rules and guidelines. Monitor expenditures (monthly, quarterly) and take action where variances are high. Arrange procurement of regular items and other day to day usable materials for project activities. Coordinate with Dhaka Administration to procure bulk items as and when required. Arrange procurement Committee in project office whenever needed in accordance with WFC procurement system and rules. Maintain budgetary control of expenditures, effectively manage fund and prepare monthly / quarterly financial and technical reports.
